Rothe

Humanity. A Government project, which disected and experimented on unusual creatures, especially those alien in nature. With hindsight it would appear that the Humans had captured at least one Elf and a strange, greenish, humanoid creature. The Humans had experimented with their genes to create some sort of super species with dragonfly wings. During the Chaos age, the Rothe managed to survive in an isolated pocket that established itself as the enchanted Black Forest in Desciomonde.

In the deepest part of the Black Forest is a gathering of thirteen ancient trees where the Rothe have made their sanctuary. The ancient trees are extremely large with roots that go deep into the earth. Inside each tree is a world of its own. Beautiful valleys filled with smaller plants and flowers are scattered throughout a colourful tropical landscape complete with waterways and waterfalls and where various wild and monstrous animals have made their habitat. The Rothe have also carved their homes into hollowed trunks and made use of the vines and long roots that stretch for miles as pathways between the trees.

Aside from the wings which provide the Rothe with a method of travel to flit between the high branches of the trees, the Rothe are also gifted with a chameleon characteristic. The flesh can change colours and shades. Typically the flesh is a greenish-blue but with a simple thought a Rothe can change his or her colour to match any vegetative background.

The Rothe are a primative race and few Rothe choose to live in the civilised world prefering their forest customs and surroundings. A Rothe can live up to 600 years of age and are capable of procreating until they are 400. A 60 year old femle Rothe is considered to be a young adult while males are generally ten to twenty years older when they enter adulthood. Both sexes are initiated into adulthood through a week long ceremony and a solo adventure into the mysterious Black Forest. The species find it difficult to procreate with fewer than 5 pregnancies a year and less than 2 successful births. Male Rothe are rare and precious, with 1 in every 150 births a male.

The Rothe are facing a difficult battle of survival and disappearances of male travellers inside the Black Forest may be linked to the Rothe's strong desire to procreate.

Physical Description

The Rothe are humanoids standing from 6 to 7 feet tall. Their waife like figure shows off their naturally lean and aethletic bodies. The facial structure of a Rothe is similar to that of an Elf. The most striking difference is the flesh colour, which is naturally a greenish-blue and then there are the four wings, that are shaped like those of a dragon fly. A Rothe's hair color is frequently red, brown or various shades of green but it too can be controlled with meditation to change colour like their flesh. Female Rothe will often decorate their long thick and curly tresses of hair with forest flowers while males will wear their hair back, cleverly platted to conceal the real length of their hair. A Rothe's native costume is a simple strip of material like a 'skirt' that covers the bottem sexual organs and for females a strip that conceals the breasts. The material is bunched and tied to secure it. The skirt is worn low on the hips so that it fully conceals the base of the cheek buttocks. Eye colour is either green, grey or hazel brown.

Relations

Rothe are a newly discovered race that seem to be primative in many ways. Elfs appear to dislike the Rothe, stearing clear of Black Forest and the paths that follow beside it. Demons also appear to dislike the Rothe, their reaction to snear or growl angrily.
